Edi Rama




Edvin Rama born on 4 July 1964 hi is an Albanian politician, artist, writer. Rama was born in Tirane his father name is Kristaq Rama he also is an sculptor and her mother name is Aneta Rama she is a graduate in medicine. In early life when hi was teenager Edi became involved in sports, he played for Dinamo a leading basketball team. Some year late he got engaged and later married with Matilda Makoci. From this married they had a son, Gregor Rama. In 1994 he separated from Makoci and then he emigrated in France.


 In 1998 Rama was asked from Prime Minister Fatos Nano to become Minister of Culture. He accepted and immediately became known for his extravagance in a variety of ways. Three year later on October 2000 he entered and won the race for Tirane mayor-ship as a Socialist Party. After taking the office he undertook radical camping to return many portions of Tirana's center and Lana River into their original forms by demolishing hundreds of illegal buildings.


In October 2005, Rama became the leader of the Socialist Party following the resignation of Fatos Nano. As mayor he compiled the Tirana City Master Plan including the Skanderbeg Square project.In the 2011 local elections, Rama lost by a small margin to a young candidate of the Coalition of the Citizen, Lulzim Basha. The elections were criticized by the monitors and the international community as they were decided in a debatable court ruling.The first ballot count gave Rama the victory by a margin of 10 votes, but afterwards the Central Electoral Committee decided to open the ballot boxes and count the ballots cast in the wrong boxes.


On Jul of 2013 Edi won the election for Prime Minister of Albania. Rama did a lot of reforms on this 4 years. Now we are just three mouths before election for the Prime Minister and the place is in political crisis because the leader of the Demokrat Party Lulzim Basha is in a protest in the center of city in Tirana because he think that this political election are manipulated. He sad in many media that will enter in elections with only a technical government.
